Greetings from the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter.
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the official Website of our chapter. We are Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter. Founded on October 6, 1930, this year our chapter will celebrate 83 years of service in the Columbus community and the Great Lakes Region.
Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter is one of the largest chapters in the Great Lakes Region, with over 240 active members. We pride ourselves on the exemplary service that is demonstrated in the Columbus area and the region through our International Program Initiatives, “Global Leadership Through Timeless Service.” Along with our international program initiatives, we maintain local programming with community service to the local YWCA Family Center, volunteering at the King Arts Center and the Ronald McDonald House. We continue to mentor young girls in middle school through our “Emerging Young Leaders” program, while helping to prepare high school girls through our AKAdette program for life after high school. We recognize and salute the middle school students in the Columbus City Schools district who have achieved a 3.5 GPA through our signature program, “Scholar’s Tea”.
Our history and leadership is rich with numerous members who have held international positions from vice president, executive director, regional directors and international committee members.
We encourage you to browse our Website to find out more about the women of Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter. If you are new to the Columbus area and looking to re-connect with your sorority sisters, we encourage you to attend a chapter meeting held on the second Sunday of each month at 2:30 p.m., at the J.H. Ross Family Life Center, 907 Lexington Avenue, Columbus, OH 43201.
Should you have questions, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
